Job description

What you will be doing

Under the general direction of the Sr Director Project Management Office, this role is responsible for managing project/program scope, timelines, budget, and the effective and high-quality delivery of them. PMO Manager leads and motivates cross-functional project teams, making timely decisions to ensure project success within set parameters. PMO Manager ensures expectations are clearly communicated and met across internal teams and business stakeholders These projects may include capital investment, new product or service launches, new systems or processes, and implementations across multiple sites. This position is categorized as compliance critical and, as such, requires and is assigned specific responsibility for ensuring continual and proper compliance with all division, corporate and regulatory requirements.


Responsibilities:

  • Project manager plans, directs, and coordinates activities of the designated project to ensure that the objectives of the project are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters.
  • Confers with project staff to outline work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority.
  • Lead conversations to identify and evaluate projects risk and propose solutions to mitigate them
  • Monitors and track the program (project)’s progress and handle issues that arise. Create and maintain comprehensive project systems, documents, plans, and reports.
  • Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems.
  • Facilitate Impact analysis sections.
  • Mobilize the team and information to create business cases in partnership with a cross-functional team
  • Lead close-out, lessons learned, and to facilitate the transition from the project phase to the operational phase
  • Proactively identify and implement improvements to the Project Management & PMO methodology

What your background should look like

Work experience:

  • Hands-on experience in project management, including remote teams
  • Proven success working with all levels of management

Educational requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree


Skills and knowledge:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Project and Innovation certifications are a plus (i.e.: PMP, Prince Design Thinking)
  • Ability to exert influence to achieve the objectives of projects.
  • Problem-solving: ability to implement relevant solutions to situational problems or changes
  • Ability to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards etc. and their impact on project activities
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Strong organizational skills; attention to detail
  • Fluent in English (Written & Spoken)
