Simulations engineer

At Blackswan Space, we’re shaping the future by empowering satellites with intelligent software. Our team is currently building one of its kind simulations tool called the Mission Design Simulator (MDS) that is not only able to model space physics accurately, but also provides photo-realistic 3D graphics running in real-time. This enables our customers to quickly prototype, test and operate their satellite missions, including the most fascinating ones such as repairing, building and cleaning up defunct satellites.

Job Description

  • Talk with our customers to better understand their needs and convert them to technical requirements.
  • Design, develop and fix bugs.
  • Research which technical solutions would best fit the problem and project needs.
  • Perform testing of the simulator modules, engaging other team members.
  • Work closely with other technical teams (Astrodynamics, GNC, AI and Robotics) to suggest improvements.

Job Requirements

  • 2+ years working as a Unity3D developer or having equivalent experience with other game/3D engines.
  • Hands on knowledge of C#, Python is a must.
  • Good understanding of 3D math (vectors and quaternions).

 

 

Assets

  • Practical knowledge in computer science / engineering / fundamental sciences.
  • Practical experience with implementation of real-world physics including kinematics and dynamics.
  • Knowing how to write multi-threaded code.
  • Experience with MATLAB and Simulink.
  • Experience with C++
  • Experience in writing network code.
  • Experience to install, configure, and maintain virtual machines.
  • Experience working with Linux, Mac.
  • Understanding of orbital mechanics, multi-body dynamics etc.
