Backup Administrator

As a core member of the Backup team in the IT Operations group, you will work with dedicated professionals to ensure clients maintain access to their critical information assets while keeping our client ahead of industry trends.

• Be part of an experienced technical team responsible for maintaining and managing backup infrastructure, ensuring availability and security of backed-up data.
• Keep the backup infrastructure up to date from both hardware and software perspectives, implementing appropriate methodologies, standards, and best practices.
• Automate manual tasks to increase execution speed and minimize the risk of human error.
• Provide current usage reports, future growth trends, capacity planning, and storage optimization.
• Deliver backup infrastructure KRI reports to external and internal auditors, IT management, and OCM teams.
• Plan and deliver the Backup infrastructure roadmap, DR, and HA strategy.
• Develop and maintain backup and recovery documentation, including SOPs and runbooks.
• Conduct regular backup and recovery testing to ensure data integrity and system reliability.
• Collaborate with security teams to ensure backup systems meet compliance requirements and security standards.
• Monitor Service Desk and JIRA queues, complying with quality guidelines when managing incidents.
• Respond and comply with escalation policies and procedures.
• Provide 8x5 operational support and promptly respond to telephone calls, voicemails, and emails.
• Participate in weekend on-call schedules and be available for emergency calls.
• Resolve and document system errors and performance issues.
• Perform root cause analysis of critical errors and outages.

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure, with a focus on backup and recovery systems.
• 3+ years of backup system administration experience (e.g., Cohesity, Veritas NetBackup, Veeam, Rubrik, Commvault).
• Strong knowledge of Veritas NetBackup, SAN/NAS enterprise storage systems, VMware vSphere, and database backup (SQL, Oracle).
• Experience with automation tools (PowerShell, Python, Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins).
• Familiarity with cloud backup and disaster recovery solutions (AWS and Azure).
• Ability to develop and implement backup and recovery policies and procedures.
• Adaptability to changing technologies and business needs.
• Self-motivated, innovative, and analytical with strong attention to detail and lateral thinking for problem-solving.
• Able to meet deadlines and shift priorities in a high-pressure environment, working independently or as part of a project team.
