Under the direction of the Business Intelligence Manager, with mentoring from the Senior Manager, you will be a key member of the team and bring analytical skills to a variety of projects in World Courier’s fast growing and complex business. 

The role will be responsible for identifying and communicating key insights, owning varied BI team outputs, and analysis in all topics covered by Business Intelligence and wider Business Excellence and Innovation department. Also, consulting with stakeholders to help define reporting, develop analytical solutions, and facilitate strategies through the use of data. The Business Intelligence Analyst will function as a BI tool expert providing on-demand reporting, advising, and training other users. They will collaborate with teams across the department and wider business and there will be considerable on the job training and opportunities to significantly expand your role, ranging from more advanced analytical work to project management. 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage the delivery of BI solutions to internal and external customers.
• Responsible for identifying and communicating key insights across the business using different reporting, visualization and analytical tools.
• Consult with stakeholders to help define reporting, develop analytic solutions and deliver these on time and to a high quality.
• Collaborate with other teams in the Business Excellence and Innovation department to drive business decision making.
• Work closely with Analytical Support, Data and Analytics teams to coordinate cross-functional activities and ensure deliverables are met.
• Own varied BI team outputs and add value where appropriate.
• Be a BI tool expert, providing on-demand reporting and training to other users.
• Create and/or update documentation, self-service guides reporting tools.

Experience and Educational Requirements: 

Any of the following:

• Previous work or internship experience in a similar field. 
• Three/four-year bachelor’s degree program in a university/college in fields such as IT, Mathematics, Social Sciences, Business Administration. 
• Completed a training course in one of the following topics – Data Analytics, Reporting, Business Intelligence.

Knowledge and Skills: 

• Planning, analytical, and intelligence skill set to capably evaluate business problems, identify, and apply appropriate solutions. Exposure to best practices.
• Ability to communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders and participate in cross-functional global teams.
• Ability to use and understand data (SQL preferred but other coding languages are also acceptable), experience with relational databases (e.g. Microsoft SQL) as well as general data management.
• Ability to create and/or understand the following is desirable - Alteryx Designer, QlikSense, Power BI.
