WordPress Developer / PHP

As the Senior WordPress Developer, you will work with our editorial and SEO teams on custom-made blogs and digital magazines related to high-end art, design, and luxury items. Your work will contribute to a strong and rapidly growing global online community of designers, design enthusiasts, and art lovers.

You will be responsible for both back-end and front-end development including the implementation and maintenance of WordPress themes and plugins as well as site integration and security updates.

The successful candidate should have in-depth knowledge of front-end programming languages (PHP, JS, CSS), a good eye for aesthetics, and strong content management skills. 

What you'll do:

• Maintain and lead the development of our new and existing WordPress instances
• Identify and address bugs and issues and quickly resolve or work with other teams to resolve them
• Review, scope, schedule, execute, QA, and launch projects and improvements based on editorial and SEO team requests
• Organize calendar/roadmap of WordPress projects 
• Work with our engineering team to improve the maintainability and stability of our WordPress instances
• Work on other engineering projects during periods of lighter WordPress needs

What you'll bring:

• Proven work experience as a WordPress and PHP developer
• Experience with operating WordPress deployments in Linux environment as well as basic SQL
• Expert knowledge of front-end technologies including CSS, JavaScript, and HTML5
• Comfort integrating and maintaining a variety of WordPress plugins, including Apple News, and custom plugins, which integrate elements of our e-commerce site (React a plus)
• Ability to organize roadmaps and work independently on a variety of projects
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a range of internal stakeholders
• Expertise with other development tools such as Git, Docker, package managers, and so on
