Job description

Position

• Lead and manage the entire high-speed rail design process across various stages, 
ensuring successful project implementation
• Develop and implement design strategies, methodologies, and guidelines, 
considering international best practices, client requirements, and local legal 
regulations
• Coordinate and control internal resources and third-party contractors/suppliers to 
ensure timely and high-quality project delivery
• Ensure design quality, technical accuracy, and compliance with all relevant standards, 
regulations, and client requirements
• Evaluate applicable engineering solutions from a techno-economic perspective and 
seek the optimal option, considering the technologically interconnected whole.
• Manage the project budget and resources related to design technical activities, 
optimizing costs and efficiency
•Identify, assess, and manage design risks, developing and implementing risk 
management plans
•Collaborate closely with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, state institutions, 
and other project participants, ensuring effective communication
• Present design reports and progress to the project owner, management, and clients
• Initiate and lead technical reviews and quality control processes throughout the 
design period

Your competencies and Experience

• Higher education degree in Engineering (e.g., Civil, Railway, Construction, Transport) 
or a related technical field
• Extensive successful work experience in transport infrastructure design, with a 
leading role in large-scale railway or high-speed rail (an advantage) projects
• In-depth knowledge of high-speed rail design standards, regulations, and best 
practices (e.g., UIC, EN, Rail Baltica Design Guidelines, etc.)
• Strong understanding of BIM (Building Information Modeling) principles and their 
application in large-scale infrastructure projects
• Experience working with advanced design and BIM software
• Excellent project management skills, including the ability to plan, organize, 
coordinate, and control complex design activities. Certifications proving these skills 
(e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, etc.) are an advantage
• Strong risk management and problem-solving skills
• Top-level communication, negotiation, and teamwork skills. Ability to effectively 
communicate with various stakeholders
• Excellent English language skills (both spoken and written, no lower than C1 level)
• Leadership qualities, proactiveness, ability to motivate a team, and make strategically 
important decisions
