Job description

Client

Our client is seeking to enhance their capabilities in supporting business users by focusing on specific use cases that drive business value. We are looking for a specialist based in Lithuania to join our team.

Project overview

The primary goal of the project is to develop advanced data models, particularly in the area of depletion sales forecasting. The team will work on building and refining models using advanced techniques such as Time-series models to predict product depletion and Distributor & Retailer Sell-Out Data Models. The project will also involve logistical and other areas, with a primary focus on sales and marketing analytics.

Team

The team will operate in a standard Scrum framework, emphasizing agile methodologies for iterative development and continuous improvement.

Position overview

We are seeking highly-skilled Data Scientists to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidates will have expertise in depletion forecasting and Time-series modeling techniques. This role offers an opportunity for growth and development as the team tackles complex data challenges and delivers impactful insights to drive business value.


The standard working hours are 09:00 to 18:00 EST.

A minimum of 4 hours of overlap with EST is required for effective collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement advanced depletion sales models using Time-series techniques such as ARIMA and Exponential Smoothing
  • Integrate external factors like promotions, seasonality, and economic conditions into predictive models to improve accuracy
  • Analyze distributor and retailer sell-out data to enhance sales forecasting capabilities
  • Continuously review and improve data models to align with evolving business needs and objectives
  • Collaborate with the Business Analyst to ensure that technical solutions are effectively communicated and meet stakeholder expectations
  • Actively participate in Scrum ceremonies, contributing to team discussions, sprint planning, and retrospectives
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in data science to bring innovative solutions to the project


Requirements

  • Proficient in AWS, Glue, and SageMaker
  • Strong knowledge of data management platforms such as Snowflake and Databricks
  • Experience in developing and deploying Time-series models (e.g., ARIMA, Exponential Smoothing)
  • Ability to incorporate external factors such as promotions, seasonality, and economic conditions into models
  • Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking
  • Excellent communication skills to work effectively in a Scrum team


Nice to have

  • Experience in Retail or Logistics
