Senior DevOps Engineer

Our client, based in Canada, is a leading B2B provider of innovative cloud-based software solutions tailored for the hospitality industry.

The goal of the project is to help them migrate their application to Azure. The business integrates Online Booking Engine (OBE), Property Management System (PMS), and Central Reservation System (CRS) functionalities, offering a seamless end-to-end experience for guests from online booking to hotel checkout, inclusive of secure online payments. The service offers a customizable booking engine with an admin interface, seamlessly integrated with various Property Management Systems (PMSs) and distribution channels. It enables contactless PCI-compliant payments via credit card, eliminating the need for paper authorization forms. This payment system facilitates online payments, deposits, and credit card authorizations for hotel clients, leveraging an existing tool to provide a comprehensive solution for secure transactions.

• Customizable booking engine with admin part, integrated with various PMSs and distribution channels.
• Service provides contactless PCI-compliant payments via credit card without paper authorization forms. A payment, deposit and credit card authorization system that enables hotel clients to make payments online, built upon an existing tool to provide a feature-rich solution for secure payments, integrating with a wide range of payment gateways. OBE’s included customizable guest-facing interfaces, a built-in module with basic PMS functions, hotel inventory distribution across various channels, and support for golf and spa bookings, loyalty programs for casino players, and housekeeping services for specific PMSs.

The team consists of a Development Manager, two Back-End Developers, one Quality Assurance (QA) specialist, and a Project Manager

• Perform on-premise to Azure Cloud migration following Cloud Adoption Framework
• Develop infrastructure-as-code following Microsoft best practices
• Automate infrastructure and software rollout via Azure Pipelines
• Design and implement the solution for automated scaling and failover to paired Azure region
• Setup monitoring and alerting

• 4+ years enterprise experience with Azure
• Experience with Azure PaaS components (Managed SQL, Azure App Services)
• Experience managing distributed MS SQL Server workloads (Always On, Availability Groups, etc.)
• Proven experience with Azure Repos and Azure Pipelines (ADO)
• Solid understanding of Terraform and Azure CLI
• Good spoken English

• Understanding Azure Landing Zone concept
• Experience hardening the infrastructure to comply PCI DSS requirements
• Microsoft certification(s) in Azure (AZ-104, AZ-400, AZ-305)
