Job description

Senior Risk Management Specialist

Nasdaq Clearing is looking for a Senior Risk Management Specialist to join the Risk Monitoring & Control Team (part of 2nd line CRO function). The CRO function is primarily responsible for controlling and overseeing that Nasdaq Clearing operates in accordance with the applicable risk management framework to ensure prudent and effective management of financial, operational, strategic & business and legal & regulatory risks associated with Nasdaq Clearing’s activities. The Risk Monitoring & Control Team is a small team responsible for providing 2nd line risk support in identifying, analyzing, measuring, monitoring and reporting identified non-financial risks for senior management.  The role includes responsibilities associated with risk identification & monitoring, control assurance program implementation and business continuity management framework development, including follow-up on incidents.

 

As the Senior Risk Management Specialist, you will be an essential part of the second line Risk function within Nasdaq Clearing and will play an important role within a wider Nasdaq Group Risk Management organization, where you will work closely with your peers to develop and implement best practice risk management framework for Nasdaq Clearing, regarding operational risk and other non-financial risks management.


In this role, you will:

 

  • Participate in all major work streams as part of Risk Monitoring & Control Team within Nasdaq Clearing and Nasdaq Group Risk Management related activities, when required.
  • Provide support to the Business Continuity Management and Crisis Management framework implementation, which includes enhancing processes and protocols, providing subject matter expertise and guidance to mitigate identified risks in these areas.
  • Participate and drive forward risk management framework implementation activities such as Risk and Control Self Assessments, Risk assessments, Key Risk Indicators, Issue & Action Tracking, new risk metrics development and appropriate dashboard creation where necessary.
  • Participate in developing and executing 2nd Line Risk control assurance program.
  • Monitor, collect, analyze and prepare risk reporting materials to all stakeholders, including senior management and the board.
  • Continue to build and improve the risk culture and operational risk framework and awareness about operational risks driving it forward within the organization, including developing and conducting appropriate training & awareness sessions.
  • Use your subject matter expertise to advise senior leaders on executing on risk management framework requirements.
  • Effectively communicating with the broader group risk team, senior management and partnering with peers to ensure consistency of approach and awareness of issues, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Proactively engage Internal Audit, SOX, Compliance, Information Security, Supplier Risk Management and other assurance functions to support an integrated approach to risk management. 


We're looking for someone with:  

 

  • A degree in Economics, Finance or other related field
  • Proven years of experience in risk management, compliance, and/or audit in the financial services industry, preferably in non-financial risk management.
  • Proven knowledge of operational risk procedures
  • Excellent communication skills in English as you will be interacting with multiple stakeholders and documenting new and existing policies, as well as preparing reports for senior management.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects.
  • A highly analytical and inquisitive attitude
  • The ability to thrive in a constantly evolving environment.
  • Ability to cultivate relationships and collaborate with customers including business leaders, legal, audit, and technology.
  • Preferred skills in programming and strong technical awareness
  • Possibility to multi-task and be involved in several projects.

Monthly salary (Gross): from 3800 to 4050 EUR (based on your competencies relevant for the job), other bonuses apply.

 

A valid working permit for the EU is mandatory.
