As an Azure Cloud Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) at our company, you will play a critical role in ensuring the availability, performance, and overall reliability of our cloud-based infrastructure. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement and maintain reliable systems and services on the Azure platform. This role requires strong technical expertise in Azure, along with excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for automation.

Successful candidate will help to define metrics for monitors and optimize the performance of systems. They help diagnose monitoring policy failures and take corrective action in order to ensure continuity of operations of the entire enterprise.

Members in this role need good communication skills and must be able to work collaboratively with system users and other technical colleagues. Individuals coordinate and work on multiple cross-functional initiatives/work groups.

Primary duties and responsibilities:

• Collaborate with development and build teams to design, deploy, and maintain highly available and scalable cloud-based solutions on the Azure platform.
• Monitor system performance and proactively identify areas for improvement to ensure optimal operation of services.
• Troubleshoot complex issues related to system performance, scalability, and availability.
• Develop automated processes and tools for operational automations, configuration management, monitoring, and incident response.
• Implement security best practices to protect data and applications hosted in the Azure environment.
• Participate in on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support for critical production systems.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies related to Azure cloud services.

Minimum skills, knowledge, and ability requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate) are a plus.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience working as an SRE or similar role with hands-on experience managing cloud infrastructure on the Azure platform.
• Strong knowledge of various Azure services such as Virtual Machines (VMs), App Services, Storage Accounts, Virtual Networks, Load Balancers, etc.
• Proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell or Python for automation purposes.
• Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes is a benefit.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs) and security principles within cloud environments.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to analyze complex problems efficiently under pressure.
• Proven track record in identifying critical issues proactively and providing effective resolutions within tight deadlines.
• Experience with Agile delivery utilizing modern cloud-based software tools and approaches (Git, CI/CD, JIRA, automated testing.
